I Did It From Iraq To Freedom

ABOUT THE BOOK

My inspiration and encouragement to write this true story about my family and my growing phases in Iraq took 10 years for me to put together but it was a wonderful experience.  I wanted my audience to not only feel the realities of survival and how difficult it was for me and my family to reach freedom from fleeing from Iraq to the United States but also to be inspired from the books essence that promotes strong will, hope, faith, and possibility.  One of the greatest values the audience can take away from my book is to never give up on your beliefs and your vision.

“I Did It From Iraq To Freedom” takes place in Iraq during the worst time ever when the Baath regime came into power for the second time between 1969 and 1972 until fleeing to Lebanon in 1973 and coming to the United States in 1975.  During this time frame the story of my family’s journey was not short of challenges and had impactful situations like me escaping death three times, striving to put food on the table while working illegally, living as refugees in Lebanon, and many more circumstances that added more obstacles to our pursuit for freedom.

Anyone who has read my book has already felt the value this book brings to the reader.  The book promotes family values, strong beliefs in God, and resilience for justice.  I was reluctant to write it at first due to ongoing built in fears from my childhood as I had witnessed harm and betrayal that had lasted within me a life time.  I was not ready to be present to witness any more harm endured to my family as the regime was still in existence in Iraq. But an added support from the love of my life, my wife, and another strong urging voice in my soul through God’s spirit, which did break the camel’s back by assuring me of no worries. My wife said I will help you edit the story which had relieved me and had easy up the process to tell it all as it happened.
